Just a small but interesting update, two of our members acquired some interesting new tools which may need a little work to get working, but will be worth the effort.
These are some incredible machines that we as a group are lucky to have access to. Our biggest challenge will be to obtain 3 phase power for these beasts. A challenge which we have a temporary solution for, an army surplus diesel generator.
While this is not a long term solution it will allow us to test the machines out and to start being trained to use them. A long term solution is in the works which you will hopefully hear about in the coming months.

please look into variable frequency drives.
the Tree mill could be run with a FM50 ($145.00)and the larger mill would need a horsepower appropriate VFD.

Yes My name is Adam Lumpkins. I live near Beaumont, You can use a Phase Converter…. It is a “long term” solution and i think it will solve your problem.

Yes, a phase converter would be a long term solution, best to look for some surplus units, as brand new they are pretty high on the price. 5 hp 30 amp would be around $400, a 25 hp 82 amp would be around $1300.
