After 39 months of work, two floods, one government shutdown, two additional government agencies, and countless tours. TXRX IS GETTING A NEW HOME! On December 23rd, we completed the final purchase and all contracts which will create the East End Maker Hub in partnership with UP CDC a 300k+ square foot prototyping, manufacturing, and crafting center. In this new facility, TXRX will have a 70k square feet of dedicated space for our Job Training, Education, Prototyping, and Community Programs.
THANK YOU! This would not have been possible without the hard work and support of all of our members and benefactors. After our initial funding drive, things kept moving but were fluid and so it wasn't until December that everything came together.
We will update you with much more information in the coming months as we prepare for the move. But we all have an amazing maker space with more space, tools, storage, and programs to look forward to in 2020.
Here are a few photos of the building in its current state.
In addition to Classes, Memberships, and Youth Programs, the East End Maker Hub will also provide TXRX the space needed to expand our Job Training Program.
